Wait for the glue to dry and cure fully. But you can t install it until you cut off the bottom lip of both grooves and the side tongue. This has caused a lot of frustration for many people. Left alone the glue may actually force the board out of its desired position.

Minor warping can usually be corrected with heat and moisture only but for more severe warping you may also need to apply pressure to the wood. Move to the right side and do the same. Score the tongue several times with a utility knife. Then snap it off with pliers. Cut or scrape excess glue off the lock with a utility knife.

The wax paper will prevent any excess oozed glue from sticking to each board. Make sure the spindle inserts through the latch and the screw posts insert through the smaller holes in the latch on each side of the spindle. Repair any broken areas you find with wood glue. Then continue the first row.
